The Vitro Carlisle plant celebrated it's 50th anniversary on Friday, July 15th. Nearly 100 current employees and retirees were on-hand to celebrate the milestone and acknowledge the plant's past, present and future.
Carlisle Director of Human Resources, Mary Schlusser, kicked off the event, while retiree Ed Kapura provided a retrospective of the plant's operations. Plant Manager Darrell Jewell talked about the plant's present activities, and Vitro Architectural Glass President Ricardo Maiz spoke to the audience about the future of the plant. Also in attendance was Carlisle Chamber of Commerce VP of Membership Development, Donna Hunter, who spoke about the plant's positive impact on the community.
Vitro Architectural Glass VP of Operations, Bill Haley, served as the master of ceremonies.
Two trees were planted on-site to commemorate 50 years of continuous operation of the plant’s two production lines, which were commissioned in 1972.
